I find the incident a fascinating topic too, but perhaps for different reasons than either of you.The truth or falsity of the church, in my opinion, hinges more on the Book of Mormon, Joseph Smith, the Brighamite branch, the Book of Abraham, the Kinderhook Plates, conflicts with science, etc.
